Retail

Great design in the retail sector is of paramount importance. The sector can be broadly split into high street and out of town. The high street is in a challenging place and must seek to engage and capture the consumer and provide a driver for them to shop and buy. New high street retail space must be flexible to enable rapid transition aligned to changing consumer habits and fashions. Spaces are changing to become venues, places of entertainment and places to socially interact. The out of town spaces engage in a different way, they look for convenience and one stop provision, large open warehouses that can acommodate large volumes of costumers. The sector is facing challenging times and there is a need to provide alternative engagement methods to attract footfall and trade.

New Merchandising Store Fit-out
Manchester City Football Club

£300k refurbishment
Working with MCFC generates commitment to delivery like no other Client we have had. With extremely limited opportunities to carry out works following the ending of the football season every project has an immense pressure to deliver quickly and on time. The fit-out of the merchandising store also comes with the added pressure of marketing strategy timescales and dates to hit for the Clubs sponsers.

BGH LLP have been involved in a number of fit-outs of the merchandising store and related Club hospitality and fan experiences such as the Stadium Tour and City Square.

New Moss Bank Park Cafe
Bolton MBC

£450k new build on greenfield site
Following a fire that destroyed the existing cafe at the park Bolton Council undertook a review of the need for a new cafe at the Park. Initially the Council were looking at providing a portacabin style facility. BGH LLP were asked to looked at the opportunity and suggested that a new build design could be as cost effective provided as a portacabin and would provide a longer lasting legacy more befitting of the Parks standing as an important historic asset and fantastic open space for the people of Bolton.

The new cafe uses design opportunities to reduce the impacts of anti-social behaviour with a smooth, riveted steep mill finished aluminium panel roof, a solid masonry base and sliding folding security doors that match the aluminium of the roof.

Sally’s Retail Store, Bolton
Gordon Moon Properties

£600k refurbishment
Prominent Bolton developer Gordon Moon Properties approached BGH LLP to redevelop an existing property in Bolton town centre that had been empty and in need of repair and maintenance for a number of years. The property, on the edge of Bolton Town Centre Conservation Area and close to listed properties required a make over that would bring it back into use and be a positive addition to the street scape. Standing seam zinc was used for the overcladding and new aluminium curtain wall shopfront glazing.

The new unit is currently occupied by the beauty retailler Sally’s.
