The development provides two new floors of flexible teaching spaces together with associated offices and facilities as well as a new staff room and reprographics department. The contract also includes the conversion of the old staff accommodation to new teaching spaces.
The building structure is a steel frame clad partly in rendered masonry and partly in composite cladding panels. Internal partitions are all lightweight stud construction with acoustic insulation. Folding partitions allow flexibility of space use. The roof is a natural anodised aluminium standing seam system with a perforated pre finished liner tray for improved acoustic performance.
